The eruption of your wisdom teeth is often something people worry about. Their assumption is that this is going to be painful and make living unbearable. For an unlucky few, the experience of wisdom teeth eruption is very painful.
However, for the most part, it is not any worse than the eruption of any of the other teeth in your mouth. There are exceptions to this, but typically, you can manage the discomfort with either an oral gel or over the counter pain relievers. What to Expect During Wisdom Teeth EruptionNo matter when your wisdom teeth come in, they will prove a formidable task. It is going to take time for them to come in. Most wisdom teeth erupt in waves. This means your gums will be sore and tender for a bit of time, then they will be fine for a bit of time. The number of waves is going to be different for each person. Most of the time, an oral pain relieving gel is going to be what helps the most. This will numb up the gums and allow the process of them being pressed on to be more tolerable. However, if you find the pain to be overwhelming, talk to your oral surgeon. They can look at x-rays and make sure your wisdom teeth are coming in straight, or they may prescribe something stronger to help you manage the pain when it is at its worst. Don't be afraid to talk to your oral surgeon during wisdom teeth eruption. They know how to help, and they also know when to say enough is enough. If your wisdom teeth are coming in awkwardly, then they may tell you that extracting them is what is best in your situation. Find out from them what their opinion is, and go from there.
