Most Common Things to Bring When You Come In to See Us for Oral Surgery

Most Common Things to Bring When You Come In to See Us for Oral SurgeryWhen it comes to getting oral surgery, you want everything to go as smoothly as possible. You want to get into our office and out of our office as quickly as possible. The sooner that we complete the procedure, the sooner you can move on to recovering from the procedure and eventually getting back to your normal routine.

Preparing for the oral surgery is one way to make the process go a little easier. One of the things that can help is if you have everything we need for your oral surgery procedure. Bringing these things is one of the first steps to making the oral surgery as painless as possible.

Be Ready for the Paperwork
When you are coming in for oral surgery, you do not want to run into anything that can delay getting the work done. The most common problems that people run into is the lack of the proper paperwork. Even though you may come in as a regular patient, that does not mean we don't need to check your ID gain. We also need to have any insurance information or pre-authorization from the insurance companies. Problems with insurance is one of the most common issues people have before oral surgery.

Medical Information

Some of the other paperwork we need relates to your medical history. It is important for us to know of any medications you have allergies to and to know what prescription drugs you are currently taking. This is especially true for anyone taking blood thinners. There are some medications that you need to stop taking before any oral surgery procedure and documentation about this can help. We also may need clearances from your doctor for any surgical procedure.

One of the last things to bring with you is another person. This person can help you by driving you home from the procedure and by providing comfort before and after. The goal of any oral surgery is to fix a problem. Having everything you need makes it easier for that to happen.
