The rise and drop in temperatures has long been associated with various health related changes as well, with everything from arthritis flare-ups to colds and sinus issues to even skin and hair condition all being noticeably affected by the shift in the weather. But an interesting question is whether or not these things can affect a specific part of the body, in this case the jaw. While nothing is for certain, recent medical research and evidence would suggest that it is possible. Here is a little bit more information concerning how the weather may play a role in your jaw pain:
Cold Weather Tightens and Contracts
Generally speaking, the physical issues that go along with weather changes do so when the weather goes from hot or warm to cool or cold. The falling temperatures stir up all kinds of pain sensors in our brains and bodies, leading to those old sports injuries or surgically repaired areas to suffer from a minor flare up. As far as the jaw goes, if you don't ever experience pain there, then it is unlikely to be caused by a drop in the temperatures, but if it is something that you do deal with at other times, the weather could be a factor in bringing about an issue.
Warm Weather Loosens and Relaxes
Likewise, if you are dealing with a cold-weather related issues like jaw pain, it is likely to be reduced or go away once the sun comes back out and the temperature heats back up.
